Visibility around the handoff.

A camera can help document approach and open-door events. Whether it belongs to the property or an OurPort monitoring arrangement is decided before installation.

Three paths to review

Fit monitoring to the property.

A camera is an option, not a default promise. The property’s security team and policies determine the appropriate path.

01

Use property CCTV

Position the handoff within approved coverage and keep video authority with the existing property platform.

02

Add a locker camera

Review a suitable PoE camera, view, mounting point and integration path with the property before specifying it.

03

Proceed without video

Where monitoring is unnecessary or not approved, use access and door-event records within the agreed operating model.

Before a camera is selected

Six decisions establish the boundary.

  1. 01What area may be viewed
  2. 02Who owns and administers the video
  3. 03Which network and VMS are approved
  4. 04How long recordings are retained
  5. 05Who may request or review footage
  6. 06How signage, privacy and incidents are handled

Ownership before equipment

Keep video governance explicit.

The working concept prefers the property’s existing video-management system. Any separate monitoring service requires its own written scope.
